Choice of Caravan

Hi

We want to go caravanning next year, camping in a tent with our weather is a bit limited in the season. A caravan will let us get away (we think..hope).
Anyway, sooo many caravans to choose from, I thought I'd ask here. 
I have a berlingo 2012 multispace e-hdi 2 kids ( boy 8 and girl 10 (she has downs syndrome and is small for her age, about the size of a 6 year old, boy is big for his age about the size of a 10/11 yo). Myself and my wife plus the 2 little uns will have to sleep in it. 

If anyone had a good experience with a particular caravan and a berlingo I'd love to hear about it.

Hi, I specifically want to hear about Berlingo drivers, on a caravan forum they suggest all sorts, the caravan laden weight for a berlingo will be 1250kg

I’ve towed a caravan for yrs including down to France & Spain. I had a 110bhp xtr for 8yrs & now have 100bhp Feel model since March both diesels. Caravan is an Abbey 900kg loaded weight & both cars towed it without trouble even up mountains. Towing mpg is about 38. I probably would not want to be towing much more than a tonne though. The quoted maximum tow weight of any car is the most it can start on an 8% hill not necessarily the weight that feels comfortable towing at motorway speeds.

The Berlingo is ideal for towing as there is a very short rear overhang behind the rear wheels - this means that the danger of caravan swing at speed is reduced. We towed an Eriba Puck with our original Berlingo - great combination!
