Not another steering fault ??

I got into my multi today to go out, I can't use the van because the rack is leaking, exhaust is blowing, and before I got off the drive I noticed there was a definite knock though the steering wheel, just a gentle but definite knock when rocking from side to side not when the wheels are moving just rocking gently a few mm each way... I'm thinking the UJ at the rack end of the steering column.. could it just be because it's so cold outside ?
 I did approx. 12 miles and although the knock was still there it was less noticeable..

 What do you think ?? Is this my second car off the road ??

 BTW..  I have just bought a 2008 Dispatch 1.6HDI as a non runner because the van wasn't used for 4 months the battery failed, but when it was replaced the van wouldn't start.. I recon an immobiliser fault.. What do you think ?

 Is there a forum for the Dispatch ? I can only find the Citroen owners club Forums..

No Dispatch forum as i know of but the van is not far of a Berlingo so will cross over. Needs a diag to be fair mate.

Yup, another car off the road !!!

 VAN with a leaking rack + blowing exhaust + dodgy LUK Clutch.  MULTI with a broken steering UJ.  DISPATCH that won't start.  MGF with a seized clutch.  MKIV GOLF with an alarm that won't turn off and a dodgy clutch..

  Next transport is a pushbike.. I need help...
