Cheap Bluetooth adapter
#1
Hi All,

I recently bought for the sum £5.99 this Bluetooth / FM adapter usb charger.

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=...3133632407

My rd4 stereo doesn't have Bluetooth function and while I would like to fit a permanent Bluetooth interface into the cd changer socket, but at the moment funds do not allow !

I have to say I'm very impressed with little adapter/ charger, I already was using a usb charging adapter so this was quick swap then I set the radio to 108mhz FM and it picked up the unit then a quick Bluetooth pairing with my phone and the job was done now I've got access to Spotify my 500 albums on my phone tune in radio and of course navigation instructions and can make/receive handless phone calls, not bad for under £6 delivered !

I also use a app on my android phone called Bluetooth on call, what this does is turn on the Bluetooth when connected to the usb power lead from the adaptor or (or any other usb power lead) ready to hook up to the adaptor and switches off the Bluetooth when I disconnect the usb lead as I leave the car ( saves battery power and keeps the phone secure)

Thanks for your kind comments !

Thanks for the 'heads-up' on Bluetooth On Call.  I've installed it on my phone and will test it in the car tomorrow.

You have to go into the apps settings and tell it you want Bluetooth on when on power.
I hope it's as useful to you as it is to me.

Hi All,

Added bonus is that as my rd4 treats the adapter as a FM station my reversing sensors still work properly which they didn't with with the old parrot system that is installed.

Can't moan for £6 !

I also should mention that android auto is available as a free app download which can manage your music , navigation and phone in a very easy to operate interface.
