Hi,
Has anybody any idea how to open a jammed drivers door?
The key will operate the central locking but the drivers door won't open, the key will not turn fully to open the door, so I am sure it is mechanical rather than an electrical fault. I can replace the door lock easily but I cannot open the door to do it.
It,s on my sisters Pugeot 106 but the locks etc are the same as on my Berlingo van.
Cheers.

Try pushing the door inwards as you attempt to open the lock ? Cheap and quick.

Thanks, but that didn't work. Although the central locking operates the door doesn't unlock, and the key doesn't fully turn to the unlock position. So when I say the door is jammed it's actually still locked. Sorry if I didn't explain correctly.
Cheers.

Will the door card come off with the door shut?
And does the window open normally?

Have you tried pulling on the door lock pin button inside the car whilst operating the central locking, this may just move the mechanism enough to allow the door to open.

Have a look at this video....

Maybe banging on the outside of the door with the flat of your hand will vibrate the seized lever down that he's talking about in the video, if that's your problem.

I've tried pulling on the lock pin whilst operating the central locking but still no good.
The windows open ok, I'm not sure if the door card will come off, I'll have another go at the weekend.

Solved ?
Had another go at the problem on Saturday, when I tried the lock it worked perfectly, I suspect the wd40 I sprayed everywhere I could has seeped into the mechanism and freed it up, time will tell.

That's good it saved a lot of hassle, it may be worth taking the door card off and lubing all the mechanism as wd 40 will dry out in time.
Are we there yet?????
