Wipers packed up
#1
As luck would have it,  it's snowing today, and I was asked to go to work, car started, but the wipers dont work
so I cant drive to work in this weather
Big Grin Cool
I checked the fuse, no ice on there, can turn wipers by hand, washers work, but wipers dont

Any ideas please?

If you can move the wipers by hand, can you hear the wiper motor running when you switch the wipers on - even though the wipers are not moving?

If so, this suggests that the linkage has become detatched somewhere.

If there is no motor movement, then the fault lies elsewhere.
Not a lot of help really, but it will narrow down the search for a fix.

you should not be able to move the wipers by hand sounds like the linkage has come loose or adrift from the motor.

Were the wipers frozen to the screen this morning when you tried to use them. You may have damaged the linkage or motor drive.
Are we there yet????? Huh

It doesn't pay to use the wipers to shift 3 inches of sticking snow from the screen just think of the force you are putting through the wiper gearbox.

you may have done some serious damage there! You need to stripp the wiper arms off and the panel so you can get an have a look what is going on.
