Windscreen washers, mind of their own
#1
Ok, so I`ve rerplaced the windscreen washer pump as that blew a few months ago. Now when i select the front it squirts the back window, and then after a little while driving it finally works on the front. Its very intermittant and sometimes works and other days never- just chuckes it straight out the back window.... had the pump off twice to check for blockages, nothing. Even had new washer jets at the front and cleaned out the rear too. It really does have a mind of its own, doing my head in now......

Another case of demonic possession, try filling the bottle with Holy water Big Grin Also are the contacts to the motor clean ?
So where does this bit go then ?

Biggest issue we get with these is cheap parts. Was your replacement an O.E one, if not this is most likely the issue.

Cheap crap parts, the motor spins one way or the other with a little rubber block that goes left or right depending which way it spins, the little rubber block is sticking, the rubber block blocks one or the other pipes out of it to divert the flow to one or the other pipes, in your case it’s not!

Get a decent quality pump by Valeo, Bosch or Citroen/Peugeot

Yeah was a £16 ebay job. I think Citroen wanted something ridiculous like £60?!

You don’t need Citroen, just something that didn’t cost three quid to make, the list of brands above are all good to go

Can anybody recommend places online to get them from? I think I still have the old one lying about somewhere so I can compare numbers to.

Had a quick butchers on eBay for you, febi are a pretty decent aftermarket make, and not cheap as chips, I’d trust it generally

Also I’d claim your money back fo the defective one from PayPal
