No washers
#1
So , my Berlingo sat at the airport last week, with -7 overnight temps. I got back Friday morning, not that cold but I found I have no screen wash .......Left it to thaw, still nothing so I checked the fuse and sure enough it was blown.

Off to the local car shop, asked for the fuse and the guy behind the counter said "washers ?".......Seems the modern canbus is really sensitive and will pop the fuse if it senses the slightest overload.

So I bought a couple of fuses........and 2 litres of quality winter screenwash !!

Yes, very common, we change several washer fuses per day once the temp drops below freezing. Top quality screenwash is the answer.
Apparently if you shake it and it froths up it is diluted . We use to use the Wurth one which doesn’t . Used to but 2litres of it in our old Touareg and you could spray it on the screen like de-icer Smile

I used to like the 30/70 meths screen wash in the trucks when I was driving when we had proper winters, it gave a lovely smell and you had the bonus on a few nights out you had a cocktail on hand to pass the evening away. lol
Are we there yet????? Huh

Nothing to do with canbus!! More bull about canbus!

It’s because the motors was frozen and the inrush current to get the motor moving remained high as the motor didn’t move so the current stayed high for longer than the fuse could cope with and blew, simple as that!
