Mark Lightfoot Independent french car specialist

I hope im okay to post this its just to make members aware of a excellent garage in Derby.

Im a former main dealer HGV mechanic so i have always done my own work on all my own cars and bikes. But due to health i can no longer do all my own work and i have to be honest its not nice.

I went to Mark recently with my Berlingo, its not local to me but it was worth the drive, the work Mark did for me was first class and to the standard that i would have done myself. I cant say that about any other place i have taken any of my vehicles to, that includes main dealers!

Mark and his son Isaac are great, easy to get along with, true enthusiasts and excellent technicians - from now on my vehicle will only be going to Mark and his son. The vehicles that i once maintained for close friends will also be on marks fleet list from now on.

Because of Mark Lightfoot i have decided to keep my 10 year old Berlingo as i have finally found someone who can take over my maintenance.

A big thank you to Mark and his Son Isaac.

That's a great advertisement.

I bought my 2008 Berlingo XTR last September. Completely new to these vehicles, so on a steep learning curve.
It had a full service the week before I collected it, and the receipt showed, among other things, a change of pollen filter.

Guess what? While renewing a faulty heater resistor pack I decided to look at the pollen filter. There are two, and the car has done 100k miles, but only 100 miles since this supposed service. Both were solid black and full of debris. Never been changed of course!

Now I wonder about the oil filter, so a complete service is my next job - and I'll do it properly.

A good garage is like the needle in the haystack - rare find nowdays.

Mark and his Son also did some repairs for last year, specially booked in on a sat morning. All carried out and First Class Service I have to say.
He had a rather tasty Audi V10 there which was undergoing some work also !

You are in a nice part of the world there Ron and it would be a fair bit of a drive, but if things get technical and its looking like main dealer work it would still be worth the drive. Im about an hour away myself but it was definitely worth the travel.

I moved here on retirement from Surrey. What a difference. It is busier in Farnham on Sundays than it is here on weekday rush hour. Can't get my head around the Welsh language though but the people are very friendly & the countryside is great.I will keep Lighty's details for any big work etc.
