[Engine] Lexia - 'Replacement Parts'

Just wondered if anyone has used the 'Replacement Parts' section in Lexia? As part of my ongoing EGR problems, I'm wondering about telling Lexia that I've changed the EGR and see what it does.

Replacement parts don't work like that.
It is used to match ecu components of car.
E.g. you have changed BSI and you can't start the car.
Then you go and match BSI to engine(BSI must be "virgin" before matching)
It is for "proof" that car is serviced at dealer.
Or with the garage that has Lexia

I thought it might be something to do with the ECU knowing there was a new part and doing calibration / adjustments. There's an option in there for a new EGR, but on my engine there is no electrical connection to the EGR. Maybe the EGR option on my engine has no effect.
