Hello guys.
A friend at work has crashed his Berlingo 2009 1.6
after the crash the car turns over but won't start.
The collision is just on the front section between the headlights. and both airbags was blown out.
the car rolls just fine, but it is mostly the front bumper and grill that has been smashed.
Is there a safety switch that has been blown since the airbag has been depliod?
Can I do something in lexia to fix the problem.

Many cars are fitted with an impact switch which will trip and disable the starting sequence, or cut off the fuel supply.
I'm guessing the B9 is so equipped. If such a switch is present, it can usually be reset. On my Mercedes this tripswitch is found under the psssenger seat and will trip with a sudden impact. Where it might be on the B9 I have no idea, but someone here with Lexia or Sedre might be able to help.

Don't like to comment on stuff unless Iam sure, but the modern cars don't tend to have cut off switches anymore as such.
However they do have electronic devices that cut the fuel that are triggered upon airbag deployment.
Pretty sure a session on Diagbox will diagnose & rectify the issue.

As Lighty, who's obviously had more experience than me.
As said, I have no idea whether the B9 Berlingo has such a device, but in view of the fact that Fords, for example, have an inertia switch fitted which cuts off the fuel on impact - not specifcally on deployment of airbags - and can be easily reset, and the 1.6hdi unit is used by them also, it is possible.
One way of telling is to see if fuel is being delivered when you crank the motor. If no fuel, then as long as the fuel supply lines have not been damaged, this could be the reason. Worth a try I would think. I for one would be interested in finding out.
