m49 door speakers.where to drill for wiring?
#1
Want to install door speakers in my 99 "berlingo...
But since there are no factory cables/holes, i need to drill in the door and carbody to wire it... (will wire to new dash tweeters and then to headunit)
Im new to car stereo, but have bought both rubbertube and fittings to holes... just need to know where to drill and where to run the cables...
Cant find relevant info for m49 without factory audio door cables... there is factory speaker hole, but no wiring... can anybody help?
Regards from denmark

No holes?
Isn't there even wiring in place for central locking or heated wing mirrors?

I can try to take pictures of how it's mounted in my 1999 but I'll have to warn you that pulling the wires to the passenger side is going to be a big pain.

All the door wiring is done with a wiring socket in the door, not with cables running through the door, as i see on youtube, that many other cars have...
But yes, plz... i need all the help i can gat Smile

You were right, there's a socket connector there.

I would start by checking in the door if tere's already wires for a speaker there, or at least a couple of unused connectors in the socket.

if there are unused connectors, pick a pair, and add wires in the door.
in the pillar side, though, you will need to loosen the rubber sleeve from the connector, feed wires in through the sleeve(I imagine that it's pretty much impossible to feed it the other way), then crimp or solder the ends of the wires to the connectors.

If there aren't any usable connectors, and you're a bit desperate, you can of course drill out a couple of pin positions and feed the wire straight through, but that will make it a bit of a pain if you ever need to separate the connection.
