Hi everyone. I have a 2001 partner and the rear wiper is not working. The man at the M O T garage said it was not part of the test so it went through. As its not working but makes a noise when the wipers are on , I wondered if it would be difficult to remove it and maybe use the power to connect a 12 volt plug in the back of car. I use it a lot for camping. Is it hard to do any anything/problems to look out for if I attempt to do it. thanks to all.

That sounds like a bit too complicated.
I installed 12V and 230V(AC) in the back of my 1999 Multispace.
I removed the panel beside the rear passenger seat, on the driver's side, and also the panel in the back on the same side. Then I pulled cables from the battery and into the coupe(needed to poke a hole or two in a rubber seal around something else), along the doorsill(remove the step panel) and into the side of the car and back.
Then I mounted a 12V 'Marine' outlet(ordinary lighter type, but with a cover), 230V outlet, a switch and a fuse holder on the side panel, hid an inverter behind the panel, and connected it all up.
As for your viper, I'd suggest fixing it. It may be something simple, such as a broken linkage.

Hi Gadgetman,
Thanks for reply , I would like to fix rear wiper but as I dont need it and its not needed for mot and there must be a power supply there , I hoped it would be a straight forward swop over . I am going to fit a leisure battery in the back for when I use car for camping. so I will have 12 volt power but thats a job for later . Any advice on fixing rear wiper .
Thanks again Ron (better days)
