[Engine] CLICKING AFTER STARTING ENGINE

  Hi fellow Berlingo people I to have a clicking on my van 2002 reg it happens just after I start it and it goes on for a while also the engine does not tick over smoothly it is also coming from around the fuse box area but I cannot pin point it's exact location any ideas would b gratefully appreciated many thanks Rob

There are two fuse boxes, one in the engine compartment and one under the steering wheel , which one ?

To me it sounds like a relay trying to work

Hi mate sorry it is the fuse box innthe engine to the right of the engine thanks again

Hi
there is a relay mounted between the headlight and battery. It is the running relay, it supplies power to things wipers/heated rear screens etc, that take a lot of current only after the alternator is up to full power, it also controls the glow plugs.
These relays sometimes suffer from a faulty earth .
