Interior light problem
#1
Hey guys I've had my m94 Berlingo multi space for about 5 months and its been great but today my interior lights have decided they dont want to turn off when the doors are shut. I can turn them off manually on the lights them self's but if there in the door position there constantly on any ideas or help would be fantastic thanks

Hi Lucas,

It sounds like you have a short to earth, if I remember correctly each door has a switch which connects a single wire which connects to earth when the door / tailgate is open.
Most likely a door switch is faulty or the wire going to it is touching the body and making the earth circuit.
I would check the switches first starting with the driver's door switch as that will be the one that gets the most use.

Another possibility is it is known that on some models water can get in by the radio aerial and into the internal light unit causing problems.

Hey thanks for the reply bud just looked now and can't see anything out of place although if I switch my rear wiper on as soon as the relay clicks and the wiper moves the lights go out and when it comes to a stop and the relay clicks off the lights come on lol I've taken the fuse out for now to save the battery

That would make me look at the electrics in and around the tailgate , when you have a poke around make sure you have some spare fuses just in case !
