Managed to fit it today,that was a bugger to fit ,impossible if you don't compress spring with cable ties,
another tip is to fit to top first,push the pedal down fully then man handle the compressed spring into lower part on pedal

I know that this is an old thread, but the same thing happened to me last week with the spring plastic part breaking and falling off. Ordered the parts same day from main dealer and am still waiting for the parts.
I have only used the car twice locally and have found that the only difference is the pedal is a bit easier to depress, it returns to the right position when I take my foot of the pedal. What I would like to know is will I do any damage to the clutch if I keep on using the car until I get the parts. Thanks guys

Edit Reason: Spelling
)
As long as pedal returning to it's highest position and not allowing any pressure on clutch thrust bearing I can't see a problem

It's actually a good mod to remove that spring for a lighter pedal - they call it a "helper spring" but I always found it makes the pedal heavy and notchy. The same problem occurs with other cars.
It's not there to return the pedal. It's there to help you press the pedal by letting you build force and then releasing it once past the half way point.

Well I'll be jiggered - mine did exactly this this year - the only difference to anyone elses was that my clutch pedal rose up to the underside of the dash (that made driving fun!) before the spring fell right out, at which point the clutch was just a bit heavier than usual - but I had a scary heap of parts round my feet!
It took a week for them to get the parts but my local garage fixed it for a measly £20 (they've done a number of small jobs for me like that - I dropped them some beer off the next day).
