Whine/whistle from engine

Hi all

My 1.4 petrol has developed a whistley / whiney noise from the engine bay recently, and I cant place it. It sounds almost like the start of turbo whine, or maybe fan belt, but its not.  Does anyone have any clues?  (Car has done 80 000, and Ive only done 3k of that since december.)

One of several things probably, drive belt tensioner, drive belt, alternator. Mine started last year, not got any worse so not bothering with it for the moment. See if it's coming from the drive belt side of the engine.

On my 1.4 I had the same problem and it turned out to be the bearing in the auto tensioner for the aux belt, I think it cost about 20/25 quid for the tensioner.
