I put my DAB in the compartment infront of the steering wheel, power cable to "Ring" power extender in the slot under the radio and the DAB aerial also in the compartment.

Ok, so I can't change channel, but I it does the job for me.

As one who lives in a DAB+ only country(everything except small local radios, are on DAB+ The local Chrisitan non-profit radio has seen a surge of new listeners... ) I found the easiest and least messy solution is to stock up on CDs, or use a stereo with a BT connection to my phone.
I see no reason to install a technology that was outdated already when my Mk I rolled out of the factory!

I've just had a Kenwood DAB radio professionally fitted in the space under the "old" radio in my 2014 XTR.

I had the old one left in as that's where I control the display (time, units etc.) The company that fitted the radio said there was a gizmo that would allow all the "adjustments" available on the original to be activated from one of the steering wheel stalks. It all sounded a bit flaky and he did admit he hadn't fitted one before so I decided to leave the old one in place.

I was using a Pure Highway DAB radio before that but it meant there were wires (aerial, power, aux out) making a real mess and it didn't work that well anyway.

I've now got my phone bluetoothed to it and at the moment am very pleased with the unit and the dealer did an excellent and tidy job fitting it.

I should say that the existing radio doesn't function as a radio anymore but I can still use the controls to set the time, date, units etc.

Got a pioneer double din in mine. I run dab+ and FM off the standard aerial with an inline booster. I keep the original stereo under the seat in the tray for when I need to change the time.
