Anyone along the A3 corridor and north Hampshire area noticed a drop in signal since the digital tv signal needs to be re tuned this past week. I’m now getting zero national stations and sketchy bbc stations.
Be my luck the aerial amplifier has packed up and the van is 4000 miles out of warranty!
Before this, reception has been no issue.

It's unlikely that the TV retune could affect dab transmission as they use totally different frequencies, the only thing I can think of is if the TV and the DAB share the same broadcast mast and engineering was carried out on the mast that they damaged or forgot to turn back on the DAB transmitter.

It’s possible although the Midhurst Mast says that everything is working all ok. Could weather cause major interference?
Does anyone know where the aerial amplifier is as that is electrically powered, could be that it’s lost power to it?

Weather is unlikely, high pressure can affect RF transmissions but that is usually in the summer and is temporary.
It's far more likely to be a fault on your car than weather or a transmitter fault.
You could also try checking on dab forums or even social media to see if anyone else is having a problem in you area or going out of your home area to see if reception improves.

i'm starting to wonder if its the aerial base FM reception is also a little sketchy - had a look last night and it is amplified (two cables coming off one for DAB one for FM/AM signal)
Think i'll be going to a car audio place to get it sorted

Now convinced it’s the aerial base as that is also the signal amplifier. I think that the threaded part has become loose where the 12v supply leads to. Only reason for this is when I changed the aerial earlier I could still move the aerial despite it being screwed all the way up. Interestingly the stubby aerial the van was fitted with has a spigot on the end - I wonder if perhaps it’s supposed to have a spring in the bore to make contact better. I’ll take a look when it stops raining!

Finally got round to fixing it - aerial base as thought. What a faff that is just to swap it over - the entire shelf has to come off unless you've got hands like Jeremy Beadle!

I changed mine in my new 67 plate van a couple of months ago and its away again, was fine until 2 days ago and all of a sudden signals dropped. I'm in Edinburgh and my cars dab is fine.
