Rear Axle Company Advice
#1
Hi,

I think my rear axle is on it's way out, its an 06 multispace with 60k on the clock which has been in the family from new, its recently started making some creaking noises when driving over uneven surfaces or speed humps, I found this place thats about 30 miles from me  https://www.imaxle.co.uk/axles/citroen/berlingo  and wondered if anyone else had used them to supply a replacement rear axle?

Cheers
Martin.

Quite a few members on here have used this company and had good reports about them. Put IM Axles in the search box and you can read up on them.
Are we there yet????? Huh

60k is low mileage, but as the car is 12 (ish) years old you can't rule out the axle bearings.

I recently removed and dismantled the rear axle from my 2006 car with 90k as a preventative measure mixed with curiosity, and although the bearings weren't brand new they would have lasted a couple of years longer, so I would guess yours will be in similar condition or possibly better.

Before assuming it's the axle bearings it may be worth your while checking over a few other things like the shockers and their mounts as these can make noise when they are worn.
Also worth checking the rubber mounts between the axle and the body as these can fail and cause noise.

Good reviews.
Pity they don't put their address anywhere on their website.
I had to ask my friend Google to find out where they are based.
