I'm looking for a quick answer if anyone has a pointer.
So the Berlngo HDI 2010 75 is on the driveway now, oil drained and filter removed. I note that the old filter I have taken out of the housing has a 4 cm x 3cm "flange" poking out more or less opposite the nipple at about 6 o-clock. There is a further ~ 1cM wide tab at about three-o-clock from the nipple.
My replacement is Mann HU7033z and it has neither of these. Other than the nipple, the base is flat. Do I have the right part?
I note that one of the on-line sellers when i use my vehicle registation in their search engine, has illustrations showing a Fram filter with these features, but Bosch and Mann without. Not sure whether I can trust their pop-up images though.
What's up?
Update (half an hour later).
.. So after digging, I see FRAM have this type http://www.sogefifilterdivision.com/cata...CH9657CECO which is WITH the flange.
And this type http://www.sogefifilterdivision.com/BI/F...67ECO.html which is WITHOUT the flange, and this one has Mann and Bosch etc equivalents, corresponding to what I have.
Both filters seem to be applicable to this engine. It would be nice to understand what that extra plastic is for. In the meantime, I need to get this vehicle on the road, so the filter sans-extra-flanges is going in.
