[Engine] Aux / Serpentine belt 2.0 HDi
#1
I'm trying to think what might be wrong with my steering as it's stiff / notchy when the weather is cold so I'm wondering if my aux belt is slipping.

Does anyone have a diagram of the routing & tensioner for the 2.0 aux belt? I somehow doubt it's slipping if the fuel pump also runs off the same belt but can't seem to find any diagrams online. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places.

Thanks

The fuel pump runs off the timing belt not the aux belt.

Just type 2.0 hdi aux belt diagram into Google for lots of pictures.

Many thanks.

There are no squeaks from the belt, the battery charges, aircon was working last week so doubt it's the belt but am at a loss as to why the steering is so stiff when the weather is cold.

Have you checked the u/j in the steering column they do tend to dry out and get stiff. Spray them with something like motorcycle chain lube.

Yeah, did that a while ago with chain lube but won't hurt to try again. I'll get the car up on axle stands to make sure I can turn the steering while spraying.
