Aerial or radio?

Hi, 
I have a problem with either my radio or my aerial as I cannot get any radio stations after I scan for them,
The radio that came with the car didn't work, so I bought a second hand radio the same as the one that was in my car. 
Does anyone know what the problem might be.

Is it a Citroen Radio? Does the CD or Tape player work?

It's a clarion radio like the one that was in the car when I got the car. Plus I don't know if the CD works as it is having the vin number put in it.
