Front seat recline knob swap / removal

I've read in another thread that it's possible to swap the backrest recline adjusting knob from the inside to the outside. Does anyone know how to get the knob off, is it just pushed on? I'm going to take the driver's seat out so that I can make the mod for extra forwards tilt and thought I'd move the knob at the same time.

OK part 1 complete, I managed to get the knob off! It's held on by 3 tags that latch over the steel adjuster wheel. You can just about see them under the knob.
Now I have no idea about how to reverse the mechanism which looks to be welded in place.

I took a long look at it yesterday and can't see how you can get the recliner knob on the outside without swapping the seats around, there are a lot of welds holding things together. Problem with that is the seat belt pre-tensioners go through a slot cut into the seat base, plus on mine it has arm rests which would then be on the outside.

Maybe the OP on the other thread will reply and let us know what they did.
