Everyone knows that times are hard, what with fuel prices,insurance etc-so why do some folk try and negotiate a discount ? I dont suppose they get on a bus or train and try the same tactics.:brickwall:or do they ???

I see your point but actually that is a common practice in these parts for longer trips, i.e. > 25km.

I know what you are talking about taxi. The company i drive for offers a 10% discount on the meter price which does my head in, we have had the same fares for over 3 years now and finding it a struggle. We even give it to account customers and company accounts so in other words i loose 10% of my income. Ive thought about changing company but i drive for the best of the worst!

What with ever-increasing price of fuel, insurance etc., we can all only hope that fuel prices come down or at least don't rise in the near future ( oh!!! nearly got hit by that flying pig )- in my opinion it's affecting every single car owner and/or business in UK severely.
