........ but I have been beset by bad luck in a couple of areas:
Firstly, I have just about recovered from being dangerously ill. I was blue lighted into hospital
with what amounted to a ruptured bowel and had it been an hour later, I'm told, I would have
not have walked out of there. After emergency surgery I spent about ten days in Intensive Care
with tubes sprouting from every orifice, then a further three weeks on the ward, before being discharged
with my very own colostomy kit. Hurrah!
Secondly, my '06 Berlingo's BSI board died and Citroen no longer supply it as a spare part! So if you have
a M59 Desire with aircon., be warned! Make sure you protect it from moisture ingress. Water gets onto
the BSI board via the wiring harness and capillary action.
So very sadly I had to part company with it. With the spares situation being what it is and not liking the B9's
new shape (Too large) I went out and bought a 2016 1560cc BlueHDI Cactus which I picked up, still under manufacturer's
guarantee and with just over 10,000 miles from a Main Dealer for £7750, which I thought was a good price.
Even if it is purple! It's quiet, comfy and drives well.....but I still miss my old M59!
Anyway, I thought it would be polite to pop back here and say "Hi".

Hello and welcome back!! I had been wondering what had happened to you. I had missed your commentary. Sorry to hear about your health issues but glad you survived them. I see plenty of Cactus's (Cactusii?) in these parts. Please don't be a stranger. Again, glad to hear from you.

My missus loves the purple colour, one drives past here most days. They are nice looking motors best of luck with it although at that age and mileage you shouldn't need luck Good news on the health front, well better than the alternative
So where does this bit go then ?

Thanks for the welcome back, everyone.
It's nice to know that I was gone but not forgotten!
The M59 was the most useful car I've owned. Great on fuel
Good to drive. A couple of years back I did Maidstone to Bournemouth
and up to Malton in Yorks. then back to Maidstone in one day and I wasn't
too tired. All for a motorcycle engine for a mate.
The C4 Cactus is just so quirky I couldn't resist it, especially at the price.
It's a very light vehicle and I've already seen close to 70mpg on occasion.
No road tax to pay and reasonable to insure. I do miss the load space but
I didn't use it that often, it was just handy to have!

I quite like the Cactus & when I don't do the dogs anymore,it's on my list.
Keep well & pop in here as you did before. After all you still have a Citroen.

Sorry to hear that you have been poorly, but good to hear you're on the mend.
Shame about your Berlingo, but thanks for the tip as my car is a desire with the air con.
Good luck with your new prickly thing I like the rubber on the doors, that should save a few car park dents.

Welcome back Ol'Jeffers !!
My brother had the same as you maybe 12 yrs ago nd he has led a very active life since, mountaineering, caving, cycling in France folowing the Tour, etc etc and even stints on the beer !! hmm ?
Anyway he says the best way to get a good nights sleep is to learn your bodies rythems and eat accordingly so any " movements " are timed for waking hours only, maybe easier said than done but that's what he does.
Anyway welcome back and best wishes for your new vehicle sounds like a good buy.
Geoff.
