heater blower help

with my engine ticking over the heater blower wont work, however as soon as i drive off it works, then as soon as i come to a standsill say at traffic lights it goes off again :S has anyone got any ideas as what could be causing this any help is much apreciated Smile

I'd guess voltage regulator. When you're idling at a stop there is insufficient output to run the blower. That's be something I would check first.

Second place to check is the heater resister pack.

These are a common fault as the resisters go faulty. I changed mine last year.

It's within the heater blower in the passanger footwell

OK, then have a look here. The link will download you a mk 2 service manual which should let you know where the VR is.
