Hi everyone, I have just changed the front pads and discs on my 2007 16v Berlingo. It all went well after following the posts on the Forum. But when I went for a test drive there was a scraping noise when I applied the brakes. I think the noise seemed worse on the nearside although I could be wrong. Please help!

Hi dunc 391 have you rechecked your work to maker sure you have done everything right?
Is it just the pads bedding in to worn discs?

Hi, thank you for your reply. I have fitted new discs and pads. I have only driven a couple of miles, do you think they may bed in, in time. The car stops well and doesnt pull to one side.

First, double check that everything is tight and there's nothing between the discs & pads, check the wheels turn freely when off the ground with no brakes applied. The discs and pads will take some time to bed in though, so if the noise is only when you apply the brakes a few more miles might be in order.

Well what an IDIOT. Stripped the caliper this morning only to find I had put a pad in the wrong way!! I had only done a couple of miles, so no real damage done. Thanks for all your help. Dunc.

Big of you to admit it and good that you didn't just hope it would "bed in"
So where does this bit go then ?
