Hi
I'm wondering if anyone has been spotting metal particles in the fuel filter housing once changing fuel filter in Berlingo 2016. 1.6 diesel. 90.000km on it now.
I wonder where this can come from and if it is safe to continue using this vehicle.

Hi and welcome.
How are you seeing metal particles in the fuel filter - the UK 1.6hdis have a sealed fuel filter you just change the whole housing.
Depends on how much metal - a very small amount is acceptable but too much means you have a hdi pump failing.

I suspect that is okay - i have seen much more in filters. But i would ask for a copy of the report from Citroen, then you will soon know is your dealer is lying.

As above, get some written evidence from Citroen via the dealer that there's no issue. Hopefully Lighty will see the thread and give a view too. Maybe worth sending him a PM?
What age is your vehicle / how much warranty is left? At 90k is it still a Citroen warranty?

I don't doubt what the dealer is telling you as it's not in their interest to turn work down. But will Citroen communicate with you directly or is it better in any case to have something via the dealer?
