Been out just now, and it's switching on and off, as it should. All I've done is slide it back in. I can't tell if it's the car, the adapter, or the stereo. We'll see how long it takes to go back to acting weird. Slightly off topic, but when I bought the van, it had one key. I never bothered to check it in the doors, until today, when I was worried the might drain the battery. Anyways, the key doesn't work in the door locks. Any idea how I go about getting a key that will work manually in the door locks?
Thanks.

Well, when I bought my Astra Sri it had 2 keys, but then when I ordered a new flip key using my code card number (you get this with a new car, has the key number, radio code etc on it) then the key arrived, didn't fit the ignition. The car had needed a CIM module at some point, and the garage, or owner had swapped the entire unit, complete with new barrel so the key number has changed.
It's stamped on the old key blade so I was able to confirm this, hadn't thought to check. I then reordered a key using the number on the blade, new key then worked fine. They didn't change the locks, so as suspected, the key i got with the car, doesn't open the doors except by remote. However, the key I ordered using the key code, does.
If you have the key code card for the van, you can order one from that number and it will work in the locks.
You may have to go to a dealer, with ID and V5, they could then look up your original key blade number and may supply a new code card for a fee. Usually between £40 and £80 depending on brand of car.

Ok, just noticed something, that may be linked. I think I can remember reading something about this, in another post about the radio not turning off, but can't find it. Radio has been playing up everyday, taking over a minute to turn off. Today when I turned the ignition on, radio cam straight on, however, I noticed the time/date/information display, on the dash, now has the wrong date, says 24/6/29... I know I didn't set this wrong, and I'm unsure if how long it's been wrong, having only just noticed. I'm sure this is linked and a common fault. I'm almost certain I read a thread with it. Hope someone can help.
