Cambelt?
#1
Just a quickie, what brand cambelt kit do you buy?
Where do you buy it from?
Roughly how much do you pay - or expect to pay for it?
Just bought the shed on Sunday, don't know it's past so wanna start afresh,
at least I'll know when it was serviced last - always a good place to start.

Hi Oletimer,
I've just replaced mine, I bought the Gates kit which includes idlers, tensioner & water pump, cost was £64.95 - - ebay,
depending what engine you have, mine is a 1.9 diesel, I'd also recommend changing the aux belt at the same time, my one shredded & caused the cambelt problem, again from ebay aux belt, idlers & tensioner by Gates £64.71
Mk1, 1.9D, Admiral Blue, 51 Plate.

I agree with THE BADGE, buy the kit on ebay, you often find the best deals on there these days.

Hi - as above, Gates kit (pump, crankshaft pulley bolt etc etc), splashed out on locking pins this time - mine is the 1.6 HDi so single cam and an easy job (made one Frankentool to get [16mm??] engine mount bolts off by cutting down a 16mm socket until it was about 10mm deep).

Best price - shop around - Eurocarparts/Carparts4Less or ebay usually but sometime Amazon can be fruitful especially if you have the correct part number
