I just posted this in the 'General Chat' area, perhaps it would have been better in here. . .
I've just bought a cheap runabout, a '54 reg Enterprise 1.9D.
Seeing as I know nothing of it's past I decided to give it a complete service.
I've got all new filters, engine oil, gearbox oil, DOT4 to do a brake oil change, and antifreeze.
What I'd like to know is:
What brand cambelt kit do you buy?
Where do you buy it from?
How much do you pay (or, expect to pay) for it?
Cheers
George
If it ain't broke, don't 'fix' it.

Hi,
you tend to get varying opinions as to what make of timing belt is best to use, some will advise to only use a dealer belt etc, ....
I will tell you is that any of the popular brand name belts are well up to the job and I would be happy to fit any of them to my own vehicle.
Where to get the parts...
take a look on ebay, there are plenty of company sellers selling on there these days and often cheaper than you can buy it from them on their own website or over the counter.
Here's a couple ...that's the full kit including a new water pump.

If you want to buy local just go to an auto parts shop, or there's always Euro Car Parts with all of their super discounted prices & sales that end up being the same price or more expensive than anywhere else

You are best getting your water pump from GSF or dealer but the timing belt kits are pretty much all good.
As Geoff says Gates kits are probably the best.

The water pump in the Gates kit or the Dayco kit will be fine.
