Central locking query

Hi guys

Wondering if you can help, I purchased a 2008 berlingo van which had the buttons missing from the remote for a considerable time.

I have since got the key repaired and have paired it however!

When I leave the vehicle for 5-10 minutes it does not lock or unlock but the instant I put the key in the driver's door and turn it I can then remove the key and lock and unlock galore.

Any ideas ?

I wonder if the battery in the key is making a bad connection and the twisting action when you put the key in the lock and twist it is flexing the key just enough for the battery to make a connection again.

2008 model?

If it has the delaying feature built in, where if you unlock with the remote and don't open any doors for over a minute it will automatically re-lock. I suppose your unusual problem may be connected in some way to this, but I'm not technical enough to see the cure.

As a bit of an update in hope that it may jog someone's memory.

It appears as if the van is forgetting the key, as when I go out of range of it, I need to unlock the van before the key becomes active again.

Any ideas
