On the subject of LEDs...
#1
Rainbow
OK, as I wrote elsewhere a few days ago I bought some bright yellow 24 LED lamps as replacements for the conventional indicator light bulbs.
Bought on eBay, it is a Hong Kong owned company and I thought I'd be getting the delivery halfway through December. They arrived today.
They were posted in Colnbrook where the company has a warehouse. I also received a £3 discount voucher. The lamps were £4.61 for the pair.
Here's a link to the company's website vehicle lighting section:

There are over a thousand lighting products! (Some of which are definitely
not legal for road use in the UK!)
For the Taxi guys they have an excellent choice of interior lighting stuff.

The are thousands of other vehicle accessories on the site too....all of it Chinese in origin but isn't everything these days? Big Grin

Thanks for the linky Ol'Jeffers. Thinking of putting some individual LED's or a strip of them on the storage recepticles above the rear sliding doors. As prviously mentioned on site, it is a tad dark when getting in or out of the back of the motor...

Have you fitted the LED bulbs yet?

You may find that they interfere with the ECU or flash too fast.
This is because LED bulbs are of a much lower wattage than normal bulbs and the ECU will think you have a blown bulb.
I fitted some on my 2001 Renault Scenic, and promptly had to remove them as they interfered with all sorts of things.
They were not only indicator bulbs I replaced, but also stop/tail and number plate.

There are LED bulbs available that have a resistor of some sort fitted inside which eliminates this problem,or,you have to fit an in-line transistor, which gets pretty hot.

These lamps have the required built in resistor that successfully imitates the properties of incandescent bulbs. I had this happen some years ago on my bike when LED replacements came onto the market and a resistor in parallel sorts out the problem. Some of the British suppliers are still charging a fiver for a resistor that can be bought in Maplins for a few pence.
If you look at the 24 LED Indicator /brake type it says as much in the 'blurb'. Thanks for the headzup though!!

Righto, let us know what you think of them when fitted, and maybe a pic or two Wink

The ones I fitted weren't as bright as normal bulbs,so I swapped them back again.
