[Engine] DW8 cambelt whine after changing it
#1
Hi guys, I'm at a loss with this, I've just changed the cam belt and got a full kit (tensioner, roller etc) and now when I run it, it whines. This is without the aux belt on so its definitely cam belt related. The cam belt Kit is a Dayco kit so hopefully good quality.

I thought the belt may be a little tight, but on the long run across the top I can turn the belt through 45 degrees, if not a little more.

Here is a video:

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Try reducing the tension a bit so you can just twist the belt through 90 degrees.

That's what I would do.

Just loosened it as much as I can and it still whines Grrrrr.

I guess the next thing is to refit all the old bits and see if it stops whining. Honestly its like a woman lol.

Can anyone advise on this:

Are you sure it's the belt that whines?
