value my 1.4 petrol
#1
Hi,  getting a car valued is easy, getting a van valued is not. can someone in the know put a value on my 1.4 petrol van an 08 on a 57 plate.
I am the original owner from new, its blue, it has 63.000 miles on the clock, I have used it for camping and commuting only, it is ply lined, it has been serviced by me since day one, I am a retired mechanic. At 50.000 miles I replaced the timing belt, the water pump, timing belt tensioner, it is ply lined. It has the usual wear and tear scratches and a couple of dings.  Any honest rough gueusstimates would be appreciated.

But then there's this one with an LPG conversion..

vans are worth what they are worth most 10 year old vans are absolute sheds but i have the same kind of thing a 10 year old, one owner, 48k van, never used as a van just my car, in mint condition. I wouldn't sell it for less than 3k but i suspect the book is rearer £900. But that value is going on the normal 10 year old shed.

I sold a Relay in very good condition for 3k when most Relays that age and mileage were going for 1k - proving if its condition is well above the average you will sell it for a sensible price.

Thanks for that. I'm thinking my van is worth more than £800. I have looked after this van like I look after all of my stuff. It definitely isn't a shed. Its never been used for business or delivering. we use it for chucking our camping gear and bikes in.
I get asked by insurance companies every year,,," what is the value of your van" and my estimates are all over the place because I simply havnt got a bloody clue.

Forgot to say i sold the relay within an hour of the ebay add going live. the guy had been looking for ages and all he had seen was sheds with rotten sub frames and belching blue smoke. He said mine was in amazing condition and got the cash out there and then. The ebay average price like i had said was closer to 1k and ebay said my chance of a sale at that price was low!

Dont be fooled by book prices they are way out the only problem is if you have a accident you will get a bag of sweets from the insurance company.
