Evening all wondering if anyone can help...my rad fan is running all the time. The van is a y reg 2.0hdi with aircon. it started by running for a min then going off and then coming back on again but now it's on all the time and the temp gauge is always on max. I have removed the two green relays from the fan unit so they don't flatten my battery and it's been like that for a while but I now have it stripped ready to fix it in the morning.
The wiring all looks okay (one fan is damaged but still works) going to replace the temp sensor but has anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance

Unless I'm wrong, the fan circuit and temp gauge circuits are completely separate? I don't think it will be controlled via canbus like the later model. If your fan in constantly kicking in and the temp gauge is always hitting max then I would of thought the engine is overheating. Does this happen on cold start up or after the engine has been running for a while? I had major overheating issues with mine when I first bought it, it turned out the radiator was fecked. Fit a new radiator and not had an issue since

The 2.0hdi can have problems with the temperature sender (the one in the end of the head gearbox end) that is the one that normally causes this problem. Its just a push fit with a seal and c-clip.
