Random beep

2007 1.6hdi. I have a random beep that happens while driving. Its like the beep for seatbelts reminder but no light on dash or warning on radio display doesnt seem to be speed dependant.  Any thoughts?

If its when you are going up or down hill check your brake fluid, it needs to be kept topped right up as it can be a bit sensitive and triggers the bleep.

I had a beep when descending some of the windy, twisty roads around the Nurburgring which was a low brake fluid warning. However, the handbrake light and STOP lights both flashed like mad, so there is no way you could miss those if that's what your beep is for!

I'll check fluid later. its only happening last few days. Weird

My two ( van and Multi ) have done this, the van because there was something pushing against the back doors and when I went up hill / accelerated the doors were opening slightly and the Multi was similar in as much as the tailgate wasn't shut properly but just shut enough, drove for 90 miles then accelerated hard from a junction and the tailgate flew open.. closing the doors fixed both.. and yes the central locking still locked.. Might be worth locking the vehicle when your driving and if there is an issue the central locking might unlock, this way you will know the locks are the issue.. Brake fluid and water level are also potential causes, possibly windscreen wash and low fuel warnings too... ?
