The Infernal one
#1
I just took delivery of a large cardboard box containing primers, fillers, clearcoat, thinner, hardener, paper sieves, cleaning and degreasing liquids, and a can of KJAD 'Inferno Red' paint...

I already have a car in need of some TLC on the outside, a spray gun(cheapest one available at BILTEMA) and very little talent...

I also have some aluminium mesh, suitable for use behind plastic if I decide to modify some parts of the front.

I plan a 'panel by panel' respray, and will probably start at the plastic panel below the front bumper.
(This is why I'm using the correct Red, it will be slightly less of an eyesore.)

No pictures, yet.

It's difficult to get an exact match if you intend doing it over a period of days, panel by panel.
This is because temperature, humidity, spraygun settings, paint composition, all vary each time you spray.

Just a thought to bear in mind ...

I know.
If I wanted a perfect sprayjob, I'd get a pro to do it.
(It would just cost more than the car is worth... )
I just want to get rid of all the stonechips, scrapes and other blemishes.
And possibly play around with my airbrush...

I spent THE hottest day this summer, crammed into a Suzuki Liana with my mother and sister, driving for 6hours on our way to a wedding... And no, the AC in it didn't work.
My sister's car (Ford Fusion) was out of action, and my Berlingo was deemed 'not pretty enough' to show up in...
Sure, it doesn't have AC, but the cabin has a much larger volume, and I have the fabric sun roof...
(And 12V outlet in the back where I could place a cooler bag... )

The return trip wasn't any fun, either...

The job won't take days... More likely months.

I have a .25L can of cheap rust-inhibiting primer that I plan to use first(on some metal shelves and unwary bits of Plywood) to get into the swing of things, before I start shooting the expensive stuff.
