[Engine] 2008 1.6hdi - Anti Pollution Fault won't rev above 2500
#1
Does anyone have a view on what might cause an 'Anti Pollution Fault' message on a 2008 1.6hdi, plus limp mode meaning no power and won't rev above 2500? The car has done approx 150k miles, new turbo and failed an earlier MOT due to excessive smoke which is what prompted the new turbo. I've been told the CAT is blocked but is there a sensor that would show this or is it maybe an egr problem or perhaps something much worse?

According to the VIN *9HX* there's no DPF

Thoughts welcome.

Thanks.

Might have been my thread that you replied to not long ago when the fuel rail pressure sensor was being dicky in my 9HX?

I don't have an informative display on dash but only the engine malfunction light. Have you scanned for codes? The cat is very easy to remove from this engine and has no sensors going to it. You could take it off and (carefully) see if it will rev past 2500rpm.

Thanks, you're right it was probably your post that I saw. I wondered about taking the cat off as you suggested. It's not on my car but one I was looking at buying but have decided against it as there were other problems.

Also possibly one of my posts - happened to me in France a few years back in our C4GP
