On a 1.9 berlingo when i install a new engine do i have to put my old pump..in order to supply the injectors with diesel or

I think the pumps are coded to the ECU. They talk to the ECU and the ECU tells the pump the settings , so either change the pump for the original or change over the sensors/control unit on the pump if possible .
There were some old posts about the same problem and changing the pump was the way to go. (I think )

There's an immobiliser over the fuel cut off solenoid on the fuel pump, it's paired with the ECU. You can get around it by cutting the casing off that houses the immobiliser and replacing the solenoid with one that is switched by the ignition. There are quite a few posts elsewhere about this with more detail on here & elsewhere.

The cut off solenoid is located where.is it the black thing on top of the pump with three wires.
If yes i removed it and I installed it to the new pump...from the original

I think you need a decent manual mate? The solenoid is on the pump and is shaped like a cut off solenoid tbh
