Heater control knob stuck ??

Todays problem , Heater control knob would not
Go back to the first position, after some encouragement it did, on way home I've discovered it now won't go back and is stuck with only the first two and won't go any further , heater still works, any suggestions ?? Thanks

Seized linkage? Foreign body jamming mechanism? But don't force it!!:eek:

Dont know what Bingo you have but on mk2's if you have too much in the glovebox items can fall out when its closed into the heater assembly and jam the flap. Or as I found out with a plastic takeaway fork fall in the fan and make a god awful noise.

I think that the dangly spare wires from the new stereo have got
Caught up in the mechanism !!!! It's now knackered, can these be replaced easily ? As it looks like the whole centre piece needs to be removed ??

Solved, managed to price control housing off, pull the back of mechanism off, free the control knob, click back together, hey presto, it works, all wiring now taped into a loom to prevent further issues
