Smashed my wing mirror off

Stupidly backed into a wheelie bin and took my passenger mirror off in the process! It’s an electric one and I’ve ordered a replacement on eBay. I should have asked first but the electric mirror on a multi space is the same as the panel van right? Also it’s a coloured mirror, can I take the colour coded bit off so it’s just black or is it more complicated than that? Cheers

The colour coded part will unscrew / unclip from the inside.

Outer mirror 'sheath' should just spring off, with a bit of manly persuasion. you can then rattle can it to whatever colour you choose.

I also did a similar thing in a car park, backed into a pillar and broke the mirror. I bought one from halfords, but what I found was that the internal support for almost all replacement mirrors is plastic and the mirror vibrates/shakes slightly while driving. This gives a somewhat fuzzy image. The original mirror has a metal support, so I used the original metal support with the new mirror and it is perfect.
