I'm having troubles with my 2010 plate Berlingo 625 LX HDI 75, Its very very smokey while running and starts ok from cold but just refuses to start from hot and Its also giving anti pollution warning I'm thinking turbo problem so was wondering if you could guide me in the rite direction to what Turbo I should buy and where would be best to purchase one? Also if it requires an engine what type should I be buying?
Turbo trouble is usually down to oil blockages and there's well documented folklore about the futility of putting a new turbo on a "dirty" engine.
I'd look at a direct replacement engine just to make life simpler.
But check it's not something silly first,so a fault code reader might be your first call

Hi thanks for your reply! The only fault that coming up on the display is anti pollution fault, I,ve had the EGR changed after a friend recommended and gave it new oil and filters but to no avail. I'm not mechanically minded so perhaps just buying a new turbo wouldnt go wrong?
Thanks again buddy :-)

Turbo replacement usually involves removing sump, cleaning out oilways & cleaning out intercooler. So a big expensive job. Search google & youtube for DV6 turbo replacement to what is involved.
As pointed out though you need to get fault diagnosed accurately first which requires the Citroen software.

Hi, I got your pm, but thought I would answer on the forum.
It’s wrong to assume that the engine has failed from what you report.
Normally the only thing that stops a diesel, from starting when hot is the injectors. Failed turbo, will not prevent starting .
Iam not sure which engine your van has , 16 valve or 8 ?
The smoke could easily be Unburnt diesel, hence indicating a fault in this area.
If the van is saying antipolution fault , then there will be a fault stored in the ecu, however injector issues often do not get recorded.
Your van needs to be looked at by someone experienced with diesel technology &preferably experience with this particular engine.

To be honest I'm not sure if its 8 or 16 valve, however the engine code is: DV6AUTED4 E4 BVM if this helps?
The variant on the log book reads 7B9HTC and version 7*9HT*
There doesn't seem to be any loss of power from the vehicle either, only very smokey on acceleration and won't start for a while after running until cooled down if this helps.
Many thanks again
I’m having the same exact issue after I did a fuel injector replacement recently. However, I don’t have issue of not being able to start when it’s hot.
My biggest issue is the smoke that is coming out of the exhaust even on idling. When to the mechanic did computer checks but no warning or errors found other than the glow plug faulty.
