Can anyone tell me if its possible , safe or Legal to remove the bulkhead frame behind the drivers seat ?.
The Van is decent , but on long journeys its very uncomfortable due to the cramped seating on drivers side .

If it’s a 3 seater van, the bulkhead frame supports the middle seatbelt. It will fail the mot but I can’t see why it will be illegal if no one is seating in the middle. I’m looking at buying a second bulkhead and modifying it to allow the seat to go back further. Just looking for a cheap one local to me

If there is a seat it must have a seatbelt, you would have to remove the middle seat to get around that law.

I’m not sure I’d want to remove the ladder frame. I’d think the van would crumple if you ever rolled it over.

Bulkheads in commercial vehicles add nothing to the structural integrity of the vehicle !
They are there to seperate the load from the front compartment. It is perfectly safe to remove a ladder
bulkhead to gain extra legroom for the driver.

Mine goes right to the roof and is fixed on the crossbeam - i've no bulkhead to talk of otherwise. I'd just assume as its tubular and the bodywork is sheet metal it would be there for support?
