Sump tray - good or bad ?

Hi folks !
My '04 Berlingo 2.0hdi is currently fitted with the plastic tray / guard under the engine .
This doe's occasionally cause access issues - is it a worthwhile thing to have , or would I be better leaving it off ?

As long as all the fixing are intact I always leave them on. It keeps the engine bay cleaner on the mud covered roads around here.
