Horn slowly died - any ideas?
#1
Driving back from France this weekend my horn stopped working - or more precisely, it slowly gave up the ghost.

First time I used it, I noticed it sounded a bit weak.  Second time it was even weaker and then slowly died over about 2 to 3 seconds.  Now it's completely dead.

Any ideas what could cause that?  Seems odd that it died slowly rather than simply not working as if there was loose wire?

And any advice on where the relevant fuse is located in a  2009 XTR 1.6d

Cheers

Thanks

Do you mean in the horn itself or in the wiring?

All a bit of a nightmare for me this - never very good at the electrics!!!

When mine went , it was corrosion where the wires connect to the horn, simply removing and reattaching the connectors cured it.
The horn was at the front passenger side under the bumper etc and was a utter pig to get to from underneath without a car lift.
