Hi all,
As I now have another VW camper again, the bed / storage unit I built for my 2005 Berlingo is surplus to requirements.
It is strongly built out of ply and covered in a fine "trade" carpet that is very similar to that used on the rear floor of a Berlingo / Partner. You can't see it in the pictures, but the side piece is strongly attached to the upper piece with screwed and glued triangular gussets of sturdy ply. The whole thing is plenty strong enough!!
With the driver's seat pushed forward, and the extension piece in place (See pictures) it is 6 foot 3 inches long.
It simply fits into place with no screws or owt, and has been like that for all the time I have used it (2 /1/2 years). This means it is dead simple (and not too heavy) to remove. Can be in or out in seconds. The extra storage space underneath is DEAD useful and I used to keep a picnic table, chair, gas cooker, box of food, duvet, pillow, etc etc under there !!!!
I have used it with both a "guest" style mattress (which will come with it) and with a single airbed (which won't come with it!). The guest mattress is not as comfy as the single airbed, but I bet you could have figured that one out
Cost is £40
Obviously it is "collection only" or I could drive up to 20 miles from my location to meet you, for fuel cost. Location is the village of Malpas, which is half way between Chester and Whitchurch (S. Cheshire / N. Shropshire border) SY14 postcode area.
