changing parking sensors
#1
Wink
Hi all,
had a little mishap the other day with a trailer !!, it came a little too close to the back of my van.

I need to change 2 of the parking sensors, the whole unit, sensor surround and the sensors. One had been hit before and the other got whacked by the trailer.
What holds these in, I think there are tabs that hold the sensor to the surround but not sure how to get the surround out,
The 2 faulty sensor surrounds are scratched but the other 2 are fine and as I have 2 new ones to put in I might paint all of them the same as the bumper so don't want to damage the 2 good ones taking them out.

Any help appreciated.

The surrounds that you can see from the outside of the bumper have clips that attach to the bumper and clips that hold the sensor in position, you can't pull the surround out with the sensor in place, you need to remove the sensor first before pulling out the surround.

The sensor is removed from the back of the bumper (inside) so you will need the bumper loose or removed to get the sensor out before you can remove the surround.

To remove the sensor you edge the clips up that hold the sensor and then it slides out towards the back of the car (inwards) once this is removed the surround will be able to be removed from the bumper (outwards) away from the back of the car.
