[Engine] nasty noise

Hi everyone,looking for some help with this one,my yr 2000 multispace 1.9 diesel has covered 162000 miles,regularly serviced,,has in the last couple of weeks started to make a horrendous noise on start up,<normally first start of the day>it sounds like a heavy duty chain thrashing around in a heavy metal box,this can last one or 10 seconds,then it smooths out as per normal,,ocassionaly coming back for a few more seconds,,apart from this it runs and drives very well,on the road it dosent smoke, rattle or make strange noises,although once or twice lately having been driven and parked up a few hours then re-started, it rattles again for a few seconds,all oils and filters have been changed every 5k. It doesend rumble like main bearings,or big ends,and dosent use any oil between changes,,,,ive been told it could be a dodgy injector,or a blocked oil line..im just about to tear my hair out so any sound advice would be very much appreciated.thank,s in advance.
