Our new (to us) 56 plate berlingo has picked up an annoying rattle at the rear end, the tail pipe is rattling on the rear bumper so I'm guessing a mount has shifted or sheared? I'ts a 1.6 petrol.
Any ideas what it's likely to be before I go lying under it in the cold, dark outdoors?

Possibly the rear silencer rubber hanger has broken, but could be something else, you really need to have a look.

most obvious ones seem to bein place, maybe they have just stretched, I'll try an exhaust place to replace the rubbers and see if that helps

Shake the exhaust around whilst under the car and see what's moving, the silencer could be loose where it joins the centre pipe, or the hanging bracket on the silencer could be loose / broken.

+1 for the 2 posts above.
My silencer had rusted around the joint of the front pipe & the clamp had rusted. Cheap clamps available on GSF when you apply the usual weekend discount.
